Your Google e-reputation: a challenge for your business
Your company’s e-reputation is today a real added value for your customer acquisition. Did you know that most of your prospects type your company name into Google (if only to visit your website) before potentially doing business with you? Are you aware that the image your company projects in Google’s results impacts your conversion rates and therefore your revenue?
A media platform for your business
Today, in 2014, the situation is as follows: Google holds a dominant position in the search market in France: 91% of French people use Google as their search engine and 46% of Google searches are done to learn about a product or a service. As a business, your first page of Google results matters.
How does an internet user behave? How do they go about making a decision online? They simply type the name of a brand, a company, a product into Google and review the results returned by the engine. This is then a key moment: within a few fractions of a second, they form an opinion.
Let’s take the case of a company that has taken charge of its reputation. What happens? Google will return a number of results that highlight the image of the company or its products: social media, articles and press releases, presentation videos, bloggers’ testimonials, and so on. The Google page then becomes a high-value media platform for your company’s brand image: all the Google results generate trust and appeal in the eyes of prospects and, consequently, a better conversion rate.
An acquisition channel to measure and improve
The companies listed on the e-reputation dashboard are searched on Google more than 4,000 times per month on average, and some are searched more than 5 million times per month. This is a more than significant volume.
Potentially, that means several thousand or even several million internet users will browse Google’s results about your company to form an opinion and decide whether or not to use your services or rather those of a competitor. On average, 60% will click on search results other than the company’s website.

Part of your revenue is at stake here: when you present your services to prospects, you apply every marketing strategy to showcase your company’s brand image, and the same must be true on its first Google page. It is a daily prospect appointment of the utmost importance for your company, your image, your product, your revenue. It is therefore up to you to diagnose your company’s first Google page, to monitor any change, so that you can react if information harmful to your business were to appear.
