Semji vs Semrush
Semrush is the best-stocked toolbox in marketing, and everything in it is a separate line item. Semrush One is $199/month; the AI writing, briefs and publishing that would act on what it finds are the Content Toolkit, $60/month more; white-labelled reporting is $20/month again. That is $279/month for one seat, one Brand Performance domain and 50 tracked prompts a day. Semji sells one platform that measures AI visibility and produces the content that fixes it.

The short answer
Semrush is a rack of toolkits you assemble and pay for individually. Semji is one platform for the AI-visibility half and the content half. Which you need depends on how much of your job is outside content.
- Backlinks, a technical crawler, PPC, local, social or earned-media outreach sit in the same seat as your content work.
- Sentiment and Share of Voice are the numbers on your executive dashboard — Semji has neither.
- Google AI Mode is the surface your market actually uses; Semji does not track it, or Copilot, or Grok.
- You want a published price, a free plan and a card checkout rather than a scoped rollout.
- You want the AI-visibility finding and the content that closes it inside one subscription.
- You publish somewhere other than WordPress — Drupal, Contentful, Strapi or your own CMS.
- Your team publishes at volume and needs briefs, an editor, a calendar, comments and approvals.
- You want AI agents that draft, optimise and publish, not an assistant that returns a to-do list.
- More than one person touches the work, and per-seat add-ons are not how you want to grow.
- Procurement will ask for SOC 2 Type II.
Feature by feature
Every Semrush cell links to the page we read it on, with the date. Five rows go to Semrush outright, and they say so.
Measurement and production in one product
The decisive section. Semrush One is defined by Semrush as the SEO Toolkit plus the AI Visibility Toolkit — the content half is a different subscription at every tier.
| Capability | Semji | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Finding and fixing in one subscription | SemjiYes. Intelligence Hub and Content Hub are the same product on one contract — a GEO gap opens as a brief in Planning | SemrushNo. Semrush defines Semrush One as the SEO Toolkit plus the AI Visibility Toolkit. Briefs, AI writing and publishing sit in the Content Toolkit, which is in no Semrush One tierSource for Finding and fixing in one subscription, checked 1 August 2026 |
| AI writing grounded in your brand | SemjiYes. Brand Voice and Knowledge Base applied at generation, unmetered by article type | SemrushYes. AI Article Generator with up to 50 brand voices — unlimited standard articles, but 5 SEO-boosted articles a month, +10 for $30/moSource for AI writing grounded in your brand, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Page-level content score | SemjiYes. Content Score across seven optimisation families — title, length, search intents, questions, related terms, incoming and outgoing links | SemrushPartial. SEO Writing Assistant scores a document on Readability, SEO, Originality and Tone of Voice — a real document-level score, and it sits in the SEO Toolkit rather than in the Content Toolkit you would buy to write withSource for Page-level content score, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Claim-level fact-checking before publication | SemjiYes. Claims in generated content checked and flagged before review | SemrushNo. SEO Writing Assistant runs a Copyleaks plagiarism check — 3 checks in total on Pro, 5 a month on Guru, 10 on Business — which finds copied text, not false claims. No claim or source verification is documentedSource for Claim-level fact-checking before publication, checked 1 August 2026 |
| One-click publishing to your CMS | SemjiYes. WordPress (incl. Yoast meta), Drupal, Contentful, Strapi, a custom MCP server and a send-to-CMS webhook | SemrushPartial. WordPress is the only CMS named as a destination — “One-click export, supports up to 100 sites.” The others are Google Docs, Mailchimp, Social Poster and CanvaSource for One-click publishing to your CMS, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Editorial planning, assignments and approvals | SemjiYes. Planning calendar, custom draft statuses, threaded comments with assignment and resolve, version history, bulk actions | SemrushPartial. The toolkit says you can “publish, collaborate, and approve content directly from one workspace”, but documents no calendar, draft statuses, assignment, threaded comments or defined review stepSource for Editorial planning, assignments and approvals, checked 1 August 2026 |
AI visibility measurement
Closest ground, and two rows go to Semrush outright. The differences that remain are how prompts get prioritised and how coverage is packaged.
| Capability | Semji | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Prompt tracking, mention and citation rates | SemjiYes. AI Visibility Score 0–100, mention rate, citation rate and average mention position | SemrushYes. AI Visibility 0–100, Mentions, Citations and Average Position, all defined metrics with daily prompt trackingSource for Prompt tracking, mention and citation rates, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Cited-source and competitor analysis | SemjiYes. GEO Sources by AI platform, source type, page type and root domain, with the prompts citing each source | SemrushYes. Cited Sources and Cited Pages, plus Missing, Strong and Unique Sources against your competitors — all defined, reported metricsSource for Cited-source and competitor analysis, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Sentiment analysis | SemjiNo. Not available | SemrushYes. Overall Sentiment — “the balance of positive and general sentiment in the mentions of your brand in AI answers” — is a defined metric in the Perception report, scoped to non-branded queries and refreshed weekly across 53 languagesSource for Sentiment analysis, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Share of Voice as a named metric | SemjiNo. Competitor ranking within a topic, but no Share of Voice figure | SemrushYes. Share of Voice — the percentage of AI-answer mentions your brand takes versus competitors — is a defined, reported metricSource for Share of Voice as a named metric, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Prompt prioritisation by real search demand | SemjiYes. Actual monthly search volume from SEO data providers on every prompt, beside topic, persona and funnel stage | SemrushPartial. AI Topic Volume is “an estimate of how often people ask about a given topic across AI platforms”, paired with Topic Difficulty — a topic-level estimate, not a per-prompt monthly volumeSource for Prompt prioritisation by real search demand, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Engines included in your plan | SemjiChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and DeepSeek — one set, every plan, no per-model add-on | SemrushCoverage is per report rather than per plan: Visibility Overview covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode plus AI Overviews; Brand Performance adds Perplexity and refreshes weeklySource for Engines included in your plan, checked 1 August 2026 |
Search and AI in one system
Semrush's home ground, and it wins two of these four. Where Semji is stronger is not depth of SEO data — it is what the two halves do together.
| Capability | Semji | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword research and rank tracking | SemjiYes. Daily positions, Est. Traffic, search intents, cannibalisation detection, Competition duels, Data Explorer | SemrushYes. The category's deepest set — keyword research, competitor analysis, gap analysis and rank tracking, 500 to 5,000 keywords daily by tierSource for Keyword research and rank tracking, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Backlink index and link building | SemjiNo. No backlink index and no link tooling | SemrushYes. Backlinks and Backlink Gap ship in every SEO Toolkit and Semrush One tier at no extra costSource for Backlink index and link building, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Technical crawler and AI-readiness audit | SemjiNo. No site crawler and no technical audit surface | SemrushYes. Site Audit crawls 100,000 pages a month on the entry tier and up to a million on Business, scores AI Search Health on crawler access, structured data and llms.txt, and flags eight AI bots blocked in robots.txtSource for Technical crawler and AI-readiness audit, checked 1 August 2026 |
| AI visibility tied to traffic, conversions and revenue | SemjiYes. GA4, Search Console, Matomo, Adobe Analytics and Piwik Pro feed clicks, impressions and position onto the same page record as its GEO and SEO scores | SemrushPartial. Self-serve reporting reaches AI referral traffic and Google Analytics conversions. “Connect AI search with traffic and conversion data to see revenue impact” is Enterprise AIO — a separate product, on a separate subdomain, with no published priceSource for AI visibility tied to traffic, conversions and revenue, checked 1 August 2026 |
AI agents and automation
Both companies ship into AI assistants. The question is whether the platform does the work or hands you a prioritised list of things to go and do.
| Capability | Semji | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Prebuilt agents that produce work | SemjiYes. About 24 templates — Content Master, GEO Expert, E-E-A-T Auditor, Top 3 Hunter, Legal Compliance, CMS Publisher — at editor and workspace scope, with bulk runs across Planning | SemrushPartial. The Content Toolkit's documented tools are Content Dashboard, Topic Finder, SEO Brief Generator, AI Article Generator, Content Optimizer and Content Repurposing — no agent library, no workspace scope, no bulk runsSource for Prebuilt agents that produce work, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Agents that publish to a CMS | SemjiYes. The CMS Publisher agent creates, updates and lists posts with scoped tools, on demand or in bulk | SemrushPartial. The Local Toolkit's Google Business Profile AI Agent “generates and publishes posts, replies to reviews, uploads photos on schedule” — to a business profile, not a CMS. Nothing in the Content Toolkit is agenticSource for Agents that publish to a CMS, checked 1 August 2026 |
| API access to your AI-visibility data | SemjiYes. Public REST API v1 with org-scoped keys, Swagger and audit logging, plus an MCP server on OAuth Auth Code + PKCE with audited tool-call logs | SemrushPartial. Four published APIs — SEO, Projects, Trends and Local — billed in API units, with the Standard API sold as an add-on to a Business subscription. AI search referral traffic comes through the Trends API; prompt tracking, mentions, citations and sentiment are exposed by none of themSource for API access to your AI-visibility data, checked 1 August 2026 |
| Official app inside ChatGPT | SemjiNo. The MCP server is listed in the Claude connectors directory; there is no ChatGPT app | SemrushYes. Generally available since 17 December 2025 on Enterprise, EDU, Business, Pro and Plus plans — live traffic, ranking and visibility data inside the chatSource for Official app inside ChatGPT, checked 1 August 2026 |
Enterprise readiness and what it costs
The section procurement reads, and the section where a published price list stops being an advantage.
| Capability | Semji | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 | SemjiYes. SOC 2 Type II certified | SemrushPartial. Neither is published on their security page. That page does claim a PCI DSS Level 1 certificate, GDPR adherence, AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2 or higher, annual penetration tests plus weekly tests of new features, a HackerOne bug bounty and US data centresSource for SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, checked 1 August 2026 |
| SSO / SAML | SemjiYes. SAML with automated certificate rotation | SemrushYes. “We have integration with SSO SAML. SSO can be enabled at any time by contacting product support.” Two-factor authentication is supported tooSource for SSO / SAML, checked 1 August 2026 |
| AI usage and cost governance | SemjiYes. Consumption and time saved by workspace, user and feature, with quota and end-of-contract projection | SemrushPartial. Spend is capped rather than reported: hard limits with fixed-price overages — $60/mo for 50 extra prompts, $99 for each extra Brand Performance domain. Predictable before purchase, invisible after itSource for AI usage and cost governance, checked 1 August 2026 |
| How you buy | SemjiQuote-based, with scoped onboarding and a dedicated customer success manager. No public price and no free trial | SemrushPublished and self-serve: Semrush One at $199, $299 and $549 a month, or $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67 billed annually. One seat by default, additional users from $45/mo, and reporting a $10–$20/mo add-on per reportSource for How you buy, checked 1 August 2026 |

Three costs that are not on the price list
None of these is a missing feature. They are what it takes to assemble the workflow out of parts that were priced separately.
One suite, sold as eight
- Semrush One, $199/mo, is the SEO Toolkit plus the AI Visibility Toolkit
- Briefs, AI writing and WordPress publishing are the Content Toolkit, $60/mo more
- White-labelled reporting with AI summaries is a Pro Report, $20/mo per report
- $279/mo — for one seat, one Brand Performance domain and 50 tracked prompts a day; extra seats are $45 to $100/mo each
The finding and the fix never meet
- A GEO recommendation carries the prompts it would lift, and their search volume
- “Add to Planning” turns it into a brief, or opens the existing page in the editor
- An agent drafts in your brand voice, fact-checks, scores and publishes to your CMS
What procurement reads
- SOC 2 Type II, certified, not on a roadmap
- SAML SSO with automated certificate rotation
- An MCP server on OAuth Auth Code + PKCE, with a permission system and audited tool-call logs
- AI consumption and time saved reported by workspace, by user and by feature
Frequently asked questions
Can I run Semji and Semrush together?
Often the right answer, and it is where teams that already own Semrush usually start. Keep Semrush for the jobs Semji does not do at all — the backlink index, Site Audit, PPC, local and PR — and let Semji own the AI-visibility-to-published-page loop. The overlap is prompt tracking and rank tracking, so teams usually consolidate the Content Toolkit and the reporting add-ons first, and keep the SEO Toolkit for as long as their link and crawl work needs it.
What would a Semji-equivalent Semrush setup actually cost?
Three subscriptions. Semrush One Starter is $199 a month for the SEO and AI Visibility toolkits; the briefs, AI writing and WordPress publishing that act on what they find are the Content Toolkit at $60 a month; and white-labelled reporting with AI summaries is a Pro Report at $20 a month. That is $279 a month, and it buys one seat, one Brand Performance domain and 50 tracked prompts a day. A second person is $45 to $100 a month depending on tier, plus $99 a month per user for AI Visibility access. Semji is quote-based, one contract, and seats are part of the scope rather than a per-head add-on.
Which AI engines does each tool cover?
Semji tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and DeepSeek — the same six on every plan, with no per-model add-on. Semrush's coverage is organised per report rather than per plan: Visibility Overview covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode plus AI Overviews, and Brand Performance adds Perplexity on a weekly refresh. Grok and Claude appear only under the Enterprise demo call to action as “Full LLM coverage”. Semrush's own pages describe prompt-tracking engine coverage inconsistently, so check the report you actually intend to use. Note the direction of the gap: Semrush covers Google AI Mode and Semji does not.
What does Semrush do better?
A lot, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. It has a real backlink index and a technical crawler, neither of which Semji has in any form. It ships sentiment and Share of Voice as defined metrics, and Semji ships neither. It has plagiarism and originality checking through SEO Writing Assistant. It tracks Google AI Mode. Its Enterprise AIO product does server log-file analysis to prove AI bots can reach your site, and it carries public references from household global brands at exactly the scale Semji sells into. It has an official app inside ChatGPT. It has a genuinely free plan that will show you an AI visibility score, mentions and citations for $0, and a seven-day Semrush One trial — Semji has no free tier, no trial and no published price. Its AI PR Toolkit goes after the outreach half of the GEO job that Semji only measures: find the media outlets LLMs trust in your niche, pitch them, and attribute the earned coverage back to the pitch. And it sells PPC, social, local and market intelligence besides, with prompt tracking across 220+ countries and Brand Performance across more than 68,000 locations. If your job spans all of that, one vendor for all of it is a real argument.
What does each company publish about security?
Semji is SOC 2 Type II certified, with SAML SSO and automated certificate rotation, and an MCP server using OAuth Auth Code with PKCE, a permission system and audited tool-call logs. Semrush's security page claims a PCI DSS Level 1 certificate, GDPR adherence, SSO SAML enabled on request, two-factor authentication, AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2 or higher, annual penetration tests plus weekly tests of new features, a HackerOne bug bounty and a shared UpGuard profile. Semrush ships an MCP server too, included with Semrush One, though it publishes no authentication mechanism, permission model or tool-call logging for it. Neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 is published on that page, and the data centres it names are in the United States with no EU-hosted option published. That is a statement about their page on 1 August 2026, not about their company — if certification matters to your review, ask them directly.
