The Semji MCP Server
The Semji MCP server connects AI assistants and agents to Semji’s content and GEO data through the Model Context Protocol. Add https://mcp.semji.com/mcp to Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible client, sign in with your Semji account, and your assistant works on your real content — scoped to your workspace permissions.
Read
What can an AI assistant read from Semji?
Your content pipeline, with real answers. A connected assistant explores and filters your planning, and pulls in your workspaces, team, brand voices and account status — including remaining credits — so it acts with the right context instead of guessing.
Ask the way you would ask a teammate: “List the drafts in my Spanish market workspace that don’t have a focus keyword yet”, or “How much AI Writing credit do I have left?” — both are worked examples from the developer portal.
Act
What can agents do in your Semji workspace?
Run the workflow, not just report on it. Agents create drafts in bulk from a list of keywords or URLs, organize them into folders, set owners, statuses and due dates, and run the SEO and AI-visibility analysis that scores content for Google Search and AI answers such as Google AI Overview and ChatGPT.
They can also launch AI generation or optimization on one or many drafts, follow progress, and publish once you approve — no glue code, no exports. You stay in your assistant; the work happens in Semji.
How do you connect an AI assistant to Semji?
The server is hosted at https://mcp.semji.com/mcp — nothing to install, nothing to deploy.
- 01
Add the Semji MCP server to your client
Register https://mcp.semji.com/mcp as a remote (HTTP) MCP server — one command in Claude Code, a custom connector in Claude Desktop and claude.ai, a JSON entry in Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf or Zed. Clients that only speak stdio connect through the mcp-remote bridge.
- 02
Sign in to Semji in the browser
The first connection opens a browser window to sign in with your Semji account. If you belong to more than one organization, you choose which one to grant access to — access stays scoped to it and to your existing workspace permissions.
- 03
Ask in plain language
The assistant works on your real content: it reads your planning, runs analyses, generates drafts and publishes when you approve — all inside the Semji account you signed in with.
What can you do through the Semji MCP server?
Manage content planning
Explore and filter your pipeline, create drafts in bulk from keywords or URLs, organize them into folders, and set owners, statuses and due dates.
Analyze SEO and AI visibility
Set a focus keyword, run the analysis, and get optimization recommendations for Google Search and AI answers — Google AI Overview and ChatGPT.
Generate and optimize with AI
Launch AI generation or optimization on one or many drafts, follow progress, review the result, and publish when you are happy with it.
Work with full context
Pull in your workspaces, team and brand voices, so the assistant writes and files content the way your organization does.
Track credits and status
Check your account status — including remaining analysis and AI Writing credits — before launching a batch of generations.
Stay inside your permissions
The assistant only ever sees and changes data in the Semji account you sign in with. Scope follows your existing workspace permissions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Semji MCP server authenticate?
With your Semji account: the first connection opens a browser sign-in, and if you belong to several organizations you pick which one to grant access to. There is no API key to paste — Bearer keys are how the separate REST API authenticates.
Which AI assistants and MCP clients are supported?
Any MCP-compatible client can connect. The developer portal documents Claude — Claude Code, Claude Desktop and claude.ai — step by step, and gives the JSON config for tools such as Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed and ChatGPT custom connectors. Clients that only speak stdio connect through the mcp-remote local bridge.
Is the Semji MCP server read-only?
No. Assistants read your planning, workspaces, brand voices and credits, and they also act: create drafts, run SEO and GEO analyses, launch AI generation and publish. Every action stays scoped to the account you signed in with and to its workspace permissions.
What is the difference between the MCP server and the REST API?
The MCP server, at https://mcp.semji.com/mcp, is for AI assistants: sign in once, then work in plain language. The REST API, at https://api.semji.com/v1, is for your own code: JSON over HTTPS, authenticated with a Bearer API key created in Semji’s settings. Both are documented on developers.semji.com.
Are there rate limits?
The REST API allows 1,000 requests per rolling hour and 20 per second per API key, and reports usage in X-RateLimit headers on every response. The portal does not publish separate limits for the MCP server — see developers.semji.com for the current policy.
Is Semji a one-click app in Claude or ChatGPT?
Not yet. You add Semji manually as a custom MCP server using https://mcp.semji.com/mcp — the developer portal walks through the exact steps for Claude, ChatGPT custom connectors and the other clients, sign-in flow included.
